The 2022 Château Pontet-Canet opens with a captivating nose of ripe blackcurrant, blackberry, and cassis, interwoven with floral notes of violet, hints of tobacco leaf, and subtle spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, showcasing a rich core of dark fruit flavors complemented by velvety tannins and fresh acidity. Dry, medium acidity, with tannins of ripe and grippy texture. Medium body and intensity flavors of blackberry, oak, cloves, p lum and black cherry. Medium length.

After a warm and dry winter, spring 2016 was fresh and exceptionally wet. Slow vegetative development has gradually accelerated. The flowering could thus be done in a homogeneous way, without stress. With a comfortable productive potential, the rather dry summer has been extended in order to offer a nice concentration and a great maturity to this exceptional and unexpected vintage. The providential Indian summer of this year has offered us harvests of rare qualitative precision. Each terroir has been able to express its potential and aromatic complexity.
